Agrale delivers the first 100% electric buses for the TramBus System in Buenos Aires

On November 17, Agrale began delivering the first 100% electric buses, model MT 17.0 LEe, for the new TramBus System in Buenos Aires. The official ceremony was attended by the city’s Chief of Government, Jorge Macri, and the Minister of Infrastructure, Pablo Bereciartua, marking an important milestone in sustainable mobility for the Argentine capital.

The project includes the supply of 82 electric buses, comprising 60 MT 17.0 LEe units, with capacity for up to 75 passengers, and 22 articulated MT 27.0 LEe units, accommodating up to 135 passengers. With a minimum range of 270 km, the vehicles combine local development with international technology.

The chassis was developed by Agrale Argentina S.A., while the electric powertrain was created in partnership with the British company Equipmake LTD. The bodywork, produced by TodoBus S.A., part of the DOTA Group, is the result of a long-standing collaboration with Agrale, combining lightweight and efficient structures with Agrale’s urban mobility solutions. This integration reinforces the companies’ ability to deliver complete, modern vehicles tailored to the demands of Buenos Aires’ public transport system, where Agrale holds a strong presence.

Operating exclusively with electric buses, the TramBus System will complement the subway network at street level, expanding intermodal integration and offering a modern, efficient, and zero-emission mobility alternative for the city.

In addition, Agrale already supplies 12 electric midibuses, 7.5 meters long and with capacity for 20 passengers, operating in the historic city center and on a dedicated cultural route connecting iconic institutions such as the National Museum of Fine Arts, MALBA, and the Museum of Modern Art.

With the first urban electric buses delivered to the TramBus System and electric vehicles already in operation, Agrale reaffirms its leadership in developing innovative and sustainable transport solutions.
