Uruguayan Army Acquires Agrale Marruá Vehicles – Models AM11 and AM23 Ambulance

Developed for transporting personnel and cargo in military and public 
security applications, the Agrale Marruá 4x4 vehicles stand out for their 
robustness, long-travel suspension, and reliability in any terrain, meeting the 
requirements of multiple missions. This versatility has just been recognized by the 
National Army of Uruguay, which acquired AM11 and AM23 Ambulance models, 
both 4x4, through an international bidding process. Deliveries, which began in 
September 2025, will continue until early 2026, demonstrating the Defense Forces’ 
confidence in the Brazilian brand.

With this acquisition, the National Army of Uruguay strengthens its vehicle fleet 
with equipment designed to ensure high performance, durability, and ease of 
maintenance. The supply of the AM11 4x4 and AM23 4x4 models reaffirms Agrale’s 
position as a strategic defense company and a partner of the armed forces of 
several countries. 
About the vehicles: 
• Agrale Marruá AM11 4x4 
The Marruá AM11 is a light tactical vehicle, ¾ ton, designed for reconnaissance 
operations. Its design emphasizes mobility, resilience, and the ability to 
accomplish missions under adverse conditions. 
Main technical specifications: 
• Cummins ISF 3.8 engine, 167 hp and 600 Nm torque 
• Eaton ESO 6205 transmission, 5 forward gears + reverse 
• 4x4 drive with Agrale transfer case 
• Gross Vehicle Weight: 4,000 kg 
• Payload capacity: 750 kg + 750 kg (towing) 
• Robust suspension with longitudinal and transverse bars 
• Agrale Marruá AM23 4x4 Ambulance – Basic Evacuation 
The Marruá AM23 Ambulance was developed for medical support in operational 
environments. The vehicle combines the robustness of the Marruá chassis with a 
configuration adapted for rescue, evacuation, and stabilization of wounded 
personnel in hard-to-reach areas.
